I am currently involved
in a number of projects with colleagues both within Australia and
abroad. These collegial relationships with researchers working across
the globe are central to my development of new research topics and they
further my interest in
locating my work in an international context. Dr. Stephen Hicks: We are currently working on a joint UK/AU research project on the experiences of LGBT foster carers and adopters. Clemence Due: We are currently working on a project examining the experiences of students in schools with New Arrivals Programmes. Alia Imtoual, Anna Szorenyi and Kathleen Connellan: We are convening a one-day symposium on Place and Space for ACRAWSA in December 2009. Drs Victoria Clarke, Sonja Ellis and Elizabeth Peel: We are currently completing work on the first undergraduate textbook on LGBTQ Psychology for Cambridge University Press. Dr Liz Short, Associate Professor Amaryll Perlesz, Rhonda Brown and Graeme Kane: We have recently completed work on a major literature review for the Australian Psychological Society on LGBT-parented families Amy Patterson: We are currently developing a research project on understandings of psychoanalytic concepts of the gaze in relation to everyday life. Dr. Suzanne McLaren: We have recently collaborated on the publication of research exploring the attitudes of lesbians and gay men to lesbian and gay parents. Professor Martha Augoustinos: First as my PhD supervisor, and now as a colleague and mentor, we have worked together on a number of project in relation to race, racism and race privilege. Associate Professor Barbara Baird: We have recently completed work on an edited collection for Cambridge Scholars press entitled the Racial Politics of Bodies, Nations and Knowledges. We also co-convened (with Alia Imtoual, Kathleen Connellan, Catherine Koerner and Tracey Bunda) the 2007 Australian Critical Race and Whiteness Studies conference.
